Who We are

Survivors of Suicide Loss (SOSL) provides ongoing, peer-led support groups for anyone who has lost a loved one to suicide. We offer survivors a place where they can be comfortable expressing themselves - a place to find support, comfort, resources, and hope in a judgment-free environment. These support groups are both online and in-person. We are based in San Diego County, CA.

Our mission is to provide support to suicide loss survivors while actively promoting suicide awareness and prevention.

Interested in joining a SOSL support group?

We offer online and in-person support groups several times per week. Sign up below to receive our weekly emails with the zoom links and location information. Those are sent out on Mondays. All of our group facilitators have lived experience with suicide loss.

(Please note: In-person groups are only in the San Diego County, CA area.)

How SOSL Began

Survivors of Suicide Loss (SOSL) evolved from a Traumatic Death support group started in February, 1981, by the Grief Center of Episcopal Community Services. As a result of apparent need, a group specially oriented to suicide deaths was established in March of the same year. By January 1982, the number of survivors had increased to the extent that an additional monthly meeting was added in order to enhance the support and intimacy that is so important to our groups.
